He is not the clay

Isaiah 29:16
You turn things upside down,
as if the potter were thought to be like the clay!
Shall what is formed say to him who formed it,
“He did not make me”?
Can the pot say of the potter,
“He knows nothing”?

So often we try to mold God into who we want him to be. Not knowing and often not caring who He really is, we create a god of our own imagination. We form a god who fits into our belief system that slides comfortably into our back pocket. God is not a malleable concept of our own design. He is real and permanently defined, the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. It is time that we throw away our preconceived ideas and seek who our God really is. Time to put aside the fables and stories and pursue the pure identity of our Creator.
