I’ve been busy busy since Saturday. I’ll catch you up slowly as I get windows of free time in the next week.

Saturday:

What fun! Kurt, the kids and I loaded up and drove to Guymon, Ok to see Hina and Betty; two friends from high school. We also met Manesh, Hina’s husband. He is great! We both loved him, very nice guy. We also met Betty’s two boys Marcos and Michael who are now 8 yrs old and in 3rd grade and Hina’s new 3mo old little Evan. Plus Betty was keeping her nephew (sorry, can’t remember the name). We got together at Hina’s parent’s hotel then decided to head to McDonalds for lunch (the only place in town with a play area for the kiddos). It was great to see my old friends, I have known Betty since 2nd grade and Hina was a dear friend in Junior High and High School. For some reason I expected them to have changed, they hadn’t they looked exactly like I remembered, both beautiful.

Evan was precious; he will be 4 months soon. So cute, beautiful smile. Kurt and I shared a private joke when Evan spit up and it went straight down my leg and landed on my shoe. Hina and Manesh, both apologized profusely for it getting on my shoe. I said “Oh don’t worry worse things have happened to these shoes” then looked out the corner of my eye at Kurt as we both snickered. No one really noticed or asked why it was so funny. You see I was wearing my infamous sandals once discussed on this blog and better known as the “previously poopy shoes“.

After a long talk and a great reunion we said our goodbyes, hopefully it won’t be another 5-10 years before I see them again.

We left Guymon and headed home, Charleigh had a birthday party to attend; her first party for a “schoolmate”. Actually it was schoolmates, She is in class with twins, Brilee and Bryn (I have definitely spelled both of those wrong). These girls were in the NICU when Charleigh was and we roomed next to their mother Ginger when we stayed at the Ronald McDonald House. The girls all think it is pretty cool that they are in the same class. Charleigh bought them giant red hats complete with satin, ribbons, bows, feathers, and rhinestones. Needless to say her gifts were a big hit. I was pretty impressed with the hats myself and if I had a hat-wearing occasion I would have bought one for my self. The best part was that they were on clearance for $3. You know how I love a bargain!

So that was our Saturday, after the party we came home and I made Chilli Dogs. Some days are just a chilli dog day, and this was one.
