little words
I sat in my comfy green recliner, coffee, bible, journal, and pen in hand. Ready to spend my time alone with the Lord. Joshua had a better idea. Lugging his own giant Bible with him he crawled up beside me. Two beautiful eyes looked up at me as he proclaimed “Mommy, I going to read my Bible to you”. He opened up to the front page and began: “Once upon a time God loves everybody. The End” He closed his big book jumped down and went back to playing.
A few hours later he walked in and found me crying. “Is mommy sad?” I shook my head up and down. “Why is mommy sad?” How do you explain insurance companies, medical providers, surgery centers, and childhood hearing loss? I answered, “I’m tired”(which was completely true) my little one replies “Don’t be sad, you not in trouble, don’t cry just smile. You not trouble. I love you, Daddy loves you, you not need to be sad anymore” I gave him my best smile. He smiled back and said, “see you’re all better”. A quick hug and off he went back to his imaginary world filled with monkeys and bouncy orange balls.
