I don’t send forwards, I don’t read forwards. Today I received one from a dear friend who holds the same forwarding policy as myself. This one is actually worth reading and acting on:

Please don’t think less of yourself than you ought to think. But rather, know that your prayers BY THEMSELVES can cause a lessening of damage or loss of life, if you would just pray about this oncoming hurricane, called RITA.

Call upon God and say, “Lord, cause the meaning of RITA — which means ‘pearl or precious’ — to live up to its meaning and treat YOUR PEOPLE, and those we pray for in Texas and Louisiana, as ‘precious pearls’ in your sight, Lord.

“Lord, Houston has shown great mercy to New Orleans. You say that those who ARE MERCIFUL, they themselves will be SHOWN mercy. So, Show Texas and the Gulf Coast Mercy, Lord! For they have shown great mercy, Lord.

“In Jesus Name! Amen!”
