Texas Flag

Dear Jesus, please have mercy on our land. May God bless my Texas and her neighbors.

Matthew 8:23-27

23Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

26He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

27The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”

I forgot to promote the 56th Carnival of Recipes which was hosted by Jordana Adams at Curmudgeonry. Jordana was especially kind by linking to not just one but 3 of my recipes.

I love this Carnival almost as much as I love Food Network. Last week was a bit too busy to join in and I’m not sure where it was hosted. I’ll do my best to submit something this week. Any Suggestions? What recipes do my friends and family think worthy?

update: The 57th Carnival of Recipes was held by Trub. The sediment of life.

Thanks to Dad for the pic.

By the way if your just checking in for the day, theres a lot of random junk posted thus pushing a great picture to the bottom of the page. Don’t miss this “Divine“post.

Ok, after all the financial drama and woe. I realized the cause of my lack of cash flow.

Upon receipt of each paycheck I immediately transfer a minute amount to a certain unused savings account. I transfer that over because if I don’t have activity in that account I will be charged a monthly fee. Knowing I had a mere $10 in it I clicked on over thinking that small amount would be quite helpful in these tight few days. To my surprise and joy I found that in error I had sent an extra $100 over last week.

Ah ha! Whoo Hoo! Yip Yeah!

I get to pay the water bill on time tomorrow instead of accruing the $6 charge I would have gotten for being 2 days late.

I can now purchase some facial tissues to wipe my babies noses. (Ours was all used up for other more pressing uses)

I could get some paper napkins to wipe their little fingers at dinnertime. (Yes, even the napkins had fallen to a sad fate)

Oh! Oh, I could possibly purchase some paper towels too! (Yes even the paper towels)

Maybe I shouldn’t rant about money anymore . . .or maybe I should. Not really thinking that people read my pitiful little posts I was surprised to find a $5 donation in my paypal account. I then received a note from dear ole sis telling me she had sent over money for t.p. Maybe its a good thing my hubby doesn’t read this blog; he probably wouldn’t be too pleased with me telling people I don’t have money for toilet tissue. Anyway now that I have toilet paper I can once again see that bright and shiny Friday. Aww Yes, payday is a coming.

This last week has reminded me of the olden days when we first wed. There was more than one time when the toilet paper roll and the pocket book emptied at the same time. I had forgotten those days. With the memories fresh in mind I had a minor anxiety attack yesterday afternoon. They are doing utility work down the road and for a good 5 minutes the electricity was off. The instant it flashed off I panicked. “Wait! Did I pay the bill? I’m sure I paid the bill! What if I didn’t? What will I do? I can’t go till Friday with no electricity.” I ran to my computer to check my account. Uhh Duh I need electricity to check my “electricity” account. While I knew it was paid the fact that I had been in a “poor” state of mind left me a bit crazy for a while. It came back on and I was instantly relieved and a little glad no one had been here to witness the event.

So Tuesday is almost done and Thursday will be past before we know it. I can’t really complain, I still have my house and my family and a toilet to flush that precious t.p. down.

I hate it when that happens!

Barely visible over Wednesday’s hump, Friday now quickly slips completely out of sight.
