UPDATE: This spoof of Tony Christie’s song was actually performed by Staff Sergeant Roger Parr of Britain’s Royal Dragoons. He is not an “Amarilloian” as the floating email states.
Still funny, still a favorite of real Amarilloians.

a friend forwarded the video made by a soldier from Amarillo serving in Iraq. It was great, he’s good looking and a good voice too. looks like they had a good time taping it. it hit a special place in my heart. i once lived in amarillo and loved every minute of it (almost). i’m from ny state and i met alot of great texans living in amarillo. that part of texas has a special place in my heart always and forever. enjoyed your website!

Um, just to make a little correction…this video was NOT made by an American soldier from Amarillo, or even anyone who has ever BEEN to Amarillo…..this video was made by a British Army unit, the Royal Dragoons.

Oh, and by the way…he’s lipsyncing the original song by Tony Christie. The British soldier featured is not actually singing the song.
Hate to be a spoil sport, but in the interest of accuracy….

Corey, thanks for the correction on the source of the video. Of course he is lipsyncing. I don’t think there was much question about that.
