Today we’re reading
John 8 (very powerful)

I went over my notes on the previous two chapters for something to share and I had almost copied the entire passages. I really encourage to read and meditate on those two, they were fabulous!

This morning I received Janae’s take on chapter 7, here’s what she said:

I think that John 7:16-18 are very important verses. Even Jesus encouraged people to test what He said. People have to be very careful of who they follow, because there are many “preachers” who are out for personal gain. Even when they say the right things and quote the right verses, many times there true motives will shine through clearly if one wants to look for them.

If I have to pick something out of chapter 7 I’d say verses 37-39 really stood out to me:
“If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. 38Whoever believes in me, as[c] the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” 39By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.

  1. Greetings! The verses you picked in chapter 7 is my favorite. This is the key to understanding the process Jesus had to go through. “The Spirit had not been given”. Jesus went through incarnation, human living, death, resurrection, and became the life-giving Spirit(1 cor. 15:45) to fulfill the Fathers good pleasure in putting the Life of God into our hearts for His expression through our spirit being filled with His Spirit. Peace!
