- Driving through a carwash with my kids

- 42 oz Diet Dr Peppers from McDonalds

- The dance my kids do when I tell them I’m making bisquits and gravy.

Has anyone seen where I put my post?

I know it was around here somewhere. Some time ago, quite some time ago I wrote a post on “Stink’n Grave Clothes” Though I wrote the post I never published it. I had decided it was much to long and preachy and perhaps I should save it till Janae and I do our first Ladies Retreat. This morning I decided to pull it out, dust it off and see if I couldn’t trim it down a bit for you. However just like my pink sandals I can’t find it anywhere, I checked all the files, disks, and cards. Looked in my Journals and under the kitchen sink. Checked my pending WordPress drafts and under the front passenger seat of my mini-van and it’s gone. Has anyone seen where I left it?

Frustration + Aggrivation+Irritation= Pray for Jami. . .and for Sprint.

Update: In reference to the Sprint PCS problem it has just escalated to monumental proportions. In keeping with my “family friendly” guidlines I will leave it at that. . .

Oh yeah and grrrrr.

Treasures from the Dryer

Filed under: Journal — Posted by Jami Leigh at 1:56 pm on Wednesday, June 28, 2006

Often upon opening the door to my dryer I am blessed by the treasures I find. A dollar here a quarter there you’d be amazed at the things I find. A few months ago I opened the door and a $10 bill fell out on the floor. At the sight of it I let out a little squeal and did a happy dance. I’m not exagerating, you can ask Amy she was on the phone with me when I found it.

Just now I opened my overly loaded dryer and something surprising popped out . . . my wedding ring. The shiny little matrimonial symbol jumped right out of the dryer and landed on the bathroom floor. How did it get there? I don’t know, I don’t know if I want to know. I’m just thankful it’s now resting comfortably where it belongs, on my finger.

I guess this gives a whole new meaning to Rocks In My Dryer
OH, and Shhhhh, don’t tell Kurt ;)

Alfredo for One

Filed under: Eats and Drinks — Posted by Jami Leigh at 2:19 pm on Tuesday, June 27, 2006

Here’s a recipe for all my single friends out there.  Just because
you’re cooking for one doesn’t mean you can’t indulge every now and again.

.Alfredo for one

2 oz Penne Pasta (I like
Dreamfields
)
1 TB butter
1 clove garlic crushed
1 green onion minced
1/3 cup heavy cream
1/8- cup freshly grated parmesan (or a little more, about a small handful)
1/2 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
2 strips bacon (fully cooked and crumbled)
2 basil leaves (cut into tiny ribbons)
diced roma tomato ( a few pieces 1/16 to 1/8 cup)

Cook pasta according to package instructions.

Meanwhile:

In a very small sauce pan melt butter over low heat.

Add in garlic and onion, sauté till soft.

Pour in cream, bring to slow boil stirring continuously for 2 minutes

Reduce heat to low and add Parmesan, stir till melted in.

Add Nutmeg and bacon. Stir.

Add Pasta to sauce toss till covered.

Right before serving toss in basil and garnish with the diced roma tomatoes.

WhaLaa, Delish!  Add the remaining diced tomato to a nice green salad
and enjoy.

For Nutrition Facts on this recipe Click Here I wouldn’t though, with all the cream and butter it’s not exactly healthy.

Take a trip over to visit Lindsay from Enjoy the Journey.
She asks Are you being nourished at the Source? Good Question.

Oh and she also did a “Where I’m From” today.

Speaking of “Where I’m From” Here’s mine, where’s yours?
