Bringing Up Boys: Practical Advice and Encouragement for Those Shaping the Next Generation of Men

Snakes and snails and puppy-dog tails. . .
I just cracked open this Dobson book and am curious as to what I’m in for. Have any of your read it?

  1. Yes, I’ve read it. It is a wonderful introductory book. A lot of very good general information that you, as a Christian, will affirm. Since you already have boys, I doubt than any information the book shares will be “news” to you, so to speak.

However, Dobson’s book does not go into great depth on any single issue associated with raising boys. Think of it as a fairly comprehensive overview. I do recommend reading it, but I also recommend a little book called “That’s My Son” by Rick Johnson. It’s a small paperback, but it deals first hand with boy issues and it’s geared specifically toward Moms. I liked both books and recommend both.

    Does that help?

  2. I am a mother of 3 boys, I have just began reading this book and I am very excited already. It has been hard to stop reading, but with having boys I am stopping all the time to “deal” with them.
