FDA lifts Ban on Most Fresh Spinach

Man! That was a long two weeks! What does one eat in their salad when one can’t buy spinach. Not iceberg, that’s for sure. I tried various leafy greens but none seemed to pack a punch quite like spinach. Mmmmm Spinach.

Two reasons why I can’t write anything right now. Busy, Busy Mommy.

Little Joshua has Strep throat. T-H-R-O-A-T That doesn’t seem so hard to spell right now but while I sat in the waiting room this morning filling out the little paper asking why we were there I just couldn’t seem to remember how to spell it. throught, throuht, throwt, I knew none of them were right and I started questioning if maybe I was the one with the fever. I don’t even know what ended up on the final copy I decided to smear the word so they wouldn’t notice I didn’t know what I was doing. As we drove away two hours later it hit me THROAT. ugg I hate it when that happens.

Once we got home I decided to throw together some yummy home made soup. I looked for some alphabet noodles but couldn’t seem to find the ones I had bought. Seems I can’t find any of the letters I’m looking for today.

Last night was “Career Night” at church for the kids. They were to dress up as what they wanted to be we they grow up. I wish I would have gotten some pictures for you. Sorry, you’ll just have to go back and look at the ones from “Crazy Hair Night”

Kaleb had a hard time figuring out what kind of costume to wear if he was wanting to be a missionary. He finally decided on camouflage to represent being a “mighty warrior for God” then he put on a cross necklace and carried a Bible with a map of China and the most recent edition of Kids of Courage. I have to say he did look pretty good!

Charleigh put on sweat pants and a t-shirt. She wore about 20 rainbow colored bracelets that said “Got God” and she carried a jump rope and a Bible. This, she said, was the appropriate attire for a Jump Rope evangelist. Apparently the bracelets were to wear then give away to those who she was sharing the Gospel with. They also looked pretty cute with her t-shirt which I think may have also had something to do with wearing so many bracelets. Honesty, you couldn’t really tell by looking at her that she was dressed up as anything other than a Charleigh. Which I guess is fine seeing that when she grows up that’s just what she wants to be: a Charleigh.

With the Texas Gubernatorial election quickly coming I thought I’d do a little research on the canidates. Today I looked up Independent Kinky Friedman. We’ve heard a lot about him but untill today I wasn’t sure where he stood on the issues. I’ve included a link to his campaign site for those of my Texas readers.

Kinky Friedman FAQ
Quick FYI: He’s pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, pro casino gambling (slots for tots), and supports federal funded stem cell research

Over the next few days I plan on looking into the other canidates as well. Here’s a list of the active canidates
Chris Bell (D)
James Werner (Lib)
Richard “Kinky” Friedman (Ind)
Carole Keeton Strayhorn (Ind)
Rick Perry (R)

In lieu of compelling content I insert instead this picture of a bug. Why a picture of a bug? Well, Joshua thinks it’s “cool” and honestly, that’s good enough for me.

It’s a fantabulous day here, we turned the heater on this morning. You all know how much I love that burn dust smell of the first heating. Mmmmm stale and toasty. Thank you Jesus for my smelly heater. I LOVE IT!

Ok, so we’re off to Amarillo to get Joshua’s 4yr well check. He says this is the day the doctor checks to make sure he’s really 4. He’s got his fingers crossed that he’ll make the grade and be graduated on to the ripe old age of four. We won’t talk yet about his impending shots. Poor little guy.

The kids wore sweaters to school today, not the ones I laid out for them. I was quite impressed with the cool outfits I had selected and both children turned their noses up. Charleigh said her Americana sweater looked boyish and Kaleb was not nearly pleased with totally hip shirt combo I had picked for him. And so it begins. . .Mom’s not cool. Oh but we all know I am, right? Right?

Oh, and when I wonder why I’m rushing and why I’m running late for my dental appointment at 10:30 this morning we’ll all really know it’s because I was rambling here about nothing. I better get in the shower. I just wanted to share with you this fantastic morning. I wanted to remind you that God is good, each breath brings you closer to your eternity. Make today count. Go ahead and insert some other inspirational, motivational something here, I can’t I’m running late.

Love ya!
