Their claim of 5 gm of digestable carb is garbage. I tried out a box and it total messed up my blood sugar. (no, I didnt eat the whole box) It tastes good, but I am actaully thinking of a lawsuit for false advertising. I was really hoping it wasnt a lie. Bummer.

From what I have read on other blogs, message boards, etc. many are able to eat Dreamfields pasta, some cannot. Not sure why they cannot make bread, cookies etc., but maybe their recipe only works with pasta?? Hopefully some day.

Check out this article on Low Carb Luxury that i found (they also sell it through netrition.com): http://www.lowcarbluxury.com/reviews-pastas.html From what I have read on other blogs, this site usually does not endorse a product unless they really mean it!

Oh, also...I usually buy their pasta direct from their website by the case at their online store (though the free supersaver shipping at amazon.com seems like the way to go!) You can find their online store at the website (www.dreamfieldsfoods.com).

For what it's worth, we love the stuff and have been eating it for years...it tastes and 'feels' exactly like regular pasta (and my 3 kids can't tell the difference :)

Linda,
Thanks for the heads up on the about.com info.
I'm not sure what to think of it. Perhaps it could do with how it's prepared or perhaps with the acidic or protein level of the sauce being served with it. I've been feeding it to Kurt for years and he's never had any problem with it.

In the short reading I just did on the subject it seemed the number of people reacting negatively was very small. I would recommend that if concerned you could watch how the pasta affects you personally then make an educated decision. As for us this pasta truly has been a great find! I have quite a few friends who also enjoy Dreamfields and none of which have had any spike in blood sugar when eating it.
