Amy’s look-alike meter

Filed under: Family and Friends, blog related stuff — Posted by Jami Leigh at 3:26 pm on Tuesday, May 13, 2008

So. . .”They” say that over the years we started looking more and more like our spouse. I decided to test this theory on Amy. Here’s what we’ve got.

MyHeritage: Family tree - Genealogy - Celebrity - Collage - Morph

To be fair I decided to test me against Kurt as well:

This list continues to grow.

with one i and no e

Filed under: General, blog related stuff — Posted by Jami Leigh at 9:18 am on Wednesday, April 2, 2008

Thats Jami with out an e.
J-A-M-I no E

It’s not your fault my parents spelled my name wrong.

I guess we can’t blame them either, after all they were pretty young at the time. . .

Anywhoo. . . the point of this post is to bring to the attention of all my linking buddies that the directions to this petite Texan blog is jami (no e) leigh. com

If you link to jami (with an e) leigh .com you’ll find your way over to this young Vancouverite’s personal musings. Which as far as I can tell is not too bad of a place to end up.

Of course both addresses are under the assumptions that you know how to spell my middle name. L-E-I-G-H

If you miss spell both the first and middle name you’ll find your self over at jami (with and e) L with two E’s.com which will direct you to Jamie Lee, a twenty-something British vocalist which also may not be that bad of place to visit.

Myers-Briggs Personality Test

I’ve heard Marla talk about the Myers-Briggs Personality Test for a few years now. I’ve finally gotten around to taking a test. Here are my results:

Here’s an explanation of what an “ENFP” is.

Interesting. I wonder what Amy is. . .

If I were a blogger. . .

Filed under: General, blog related stuff — Posted by Jami Leigh at 12:17 pm on Monday, October 15, 2007

If I were a mommy blogger I’d have told you all about Joshua’s Ultimate Rock and Roll Birthday Party or about Charleigh turning 8 or at least I’d have shared a picture of her baptism yesterday. I’d tell you Kaleb is selling BoyScout popcorn and the order has to go in today.

-But I didn’t

If I were a food blogger I’d have shared my recipe for Creamy Pesto Spread, 5 minute Tiramisu or Tangy Fruit Salsa

If I were a music blogger I’d have bragged about the weekend spent here by the Amazing Corinna Smith as she prepared the songs for her upcoming CD.

If I were a family blogger I’d have shared poinant stories about taking my kids to a memorial day celebration, visiting the graves of distant relatives and hearing for the first time their stories. I would have showed you pictures of the Rocket Ship in Lavern or the Yellow house in Perryton. Maybe even a picture of my great Uncle Rod would have shown up and I would have written a nice little piece on what great guy he is.

If I were a Bible blogger I’d offer insight on Collosians, Romans and maybe even Isaiah.

If I were a linking blogger I’d have linked you on over to Rachel or Amy

If I were a garden blogger I’d have subjected you to pictures of chives, sage, basil, mint, oregano, dill, cilantro, parsley, rosemary, thyme, and tomatoes. Maybe even a pepper or two. I’d also have made you read the multitude of things you could do with such things and how I know God made sweet basil and thyme just to show how much he loves me.

If I were a political blogger. . .oh, the things I’d write if I were a political blogger.

But I didn’t, not a bit. Nope, nada.

Alas, I am not a blogger. . .had anyone noticed?

tagged

Filed under: General, blog related stuff — Posted by Jami Leigh at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 7, 2007

I’ve been tagged by Moriah, not just tagged but “myspace” tagged. So in keeping my “myspace snubbery” but still honoring the tag I post here “ten, weird, random things, facts, or habits about” myself.

1. I’m always thirsty.

2. I turn 30 tomorrow.

3. I love crowds.

4. I’m craving an omellette

5. I’m not sure how to spell omelet

6. I’m less easily embarrassed than I used to be, maybe thats due to age.

7. I drive a mini van, a silver hail damaged mini van, and I like it. So there.

8. I dance in my kitchen when no one is around.

9. I have an ulcer. Grrr.

10. It’s snowing outside, tomorrow is Easter and it’s snowing outside.

Oh and as a bonus “FYI” when spell checking omelette “towelette” is offered as a viable option. Which is some what helpful as one may need a towelette after eating an omelet.

Now I’m supposed to list 10 people I tag and why. . . I can’t do that right now, instead I have to go make an omelet. I am starving!

I still don’t want to be a blogger

Filed under: blog related stuff — Posted by Jami Leigh at 9:00 am on Wednesday, March 14, 2007

It’s been six months since I decided to stop “blogging”. I think I may have forgotten my resolution. I came across that declaration just now and it’s refreshed my memory of how desperately I don’t want to be a Blogger.

Coffee Cups and Shameless linkage.

Filed under: blog related stuff, Gift Ideas — Posted by Jami Leigh at 5:29 pm on Tuesday, March 13, 2007

Here’s a picture of my favorite coffee cup. I got it from
Christianbook.com
. I found this mug on sale when I was at their site purchasing a
Francine Rivers
book for Sarah. I loved the pink and brown so I went ahead and ordered it I also got Kurt the green Faith one for Valentines Day. When they arrived they were much nicer than I expected; I’m going to keep an eye out for the next sale so I can get the rest of the collection.

I love
Christianbook.com
, I’ve purchased various books and gifts from them over the years and I’m always impressed with their service as well as their competitive prices. I’ve linked to them so often I decided to go ahead and become an affiliate. So now when I send customers their way I get a friendly little commission. What Fun. Seeing that this is where I actually shop I don’t mind telling you about them every now and again.

The Carnival of the Recipes: Happy Food Edition

Filed under: Eats and Drinks, blog related stuff — Posted by Jami Leigh at 12:39 am on Sunday, March 4, 2007

Good Sunday Morning
I started out with high expectation and emboldened ambition as I signed up for this feat that is The Recipe Carnival. I failed to factor in to the equation a little thing called life. Aww, yes life has indeed thrown me a curve ball when it came to the organization and execution of this here circus.

So it is with humility I ask that as you take this ride you offer a little grace, hold on tight and maybe, well just maybe it might look better if you only keep one eye open…
Here goes:
The Carnival of Recipes: Happy Food Edition.

“Happy Food”

That’s pretty inclusive don’t you think? After all doesn’t food make us all a little happy? Some of us more than others, other wise you wouldn’t be here…

If we’re talking “happy” then we have to start with desert, right?

What confection lends itself to a smile more than the perfect icing?
Let’s first “Me-Ander” on over for Batya’s perfectly happy
‘Too Easy Chocolate Icing”.

MMMM, more frosting to come as Kathee presents Peanut Butter Frosting posted at Recipes Recipe - Famous Recipes.

Stephanie who’s always teaching us how to “Make Healthy Meals” shares a delightful low fat and chocolaty treat with her Chocolate Chip Meringue Drop

Shawn Lea, our illustrious carnival queen, offers Banana Cupcakes with Amaretto Buttercream She says “If these don’t make you happy, ain’t much that will! ” Frankly, I believe her.

Now, maybe we shouldn’t have started with the deserts, after all what’s “happier” about food than the memories it brings us?

Thanks to Deborah Uhler from Eat your History, she pays tribute to her mother with her fabulous submission of Shrimp and Grits.

Delores shares her Mother’s favorite Calico Beans

Triticale- the wheat/rye guy shares a sweet story along with his Korean Sweet Potato Pie

Hearty comfort food warms all our hearts
Let’s head on over to Jennifer’s Kitchen Delites where she shares her delicious 16 Bean Soup

Andrea Dickson knows just how to make me happy, she’s the queen of using up good food before it goes bad. Head on over to Wise Bread and check out her explanation and recipe for Feijoada. Oh, how I love black beans! Top it off with a history and social studies lesson and I am happy, I could live without the pigs foot though…

A healthy heart is a happy heart as “Disease Proof” shares not one but three recipes, including Salad, Soup and a Juice

Wow! We’ve gotta try the submission from Kneadle Work, she’s combined Chili and Chocolate! That’s right folks, you heard me correctly, she adds a bit of Mexican chocolate to this fabulous Three-Bean Chili

Besides being a foodie I’m also a shutter-bug so Kevin’s presentation of Steak & Mushroom Pie is right up my alley. Not only does it sound delicious but it looks it as well. You know, I won’t buy a cook book unless theres pictures of each and every recipe…

Maureen knows what I like, not only does she offer a photo but she submits a simple recipe at that. She says it’s “Happy cuz it’s so easy!” Click on over and check out her Cordon Bleu Casserole

Keewee invites us over to her corner for a heaping plate of Spanish Rice & Meatballs and yes, she features a picture as well.

I love learning the simple ways of foods I’ve never embraced.

Riannan from “In the Headlights” shares her love for Artichokes

Peggy from “Blabber Heads” loves her kids and they love their Buttered Brussels Sprouts. She offers us some sweet and simple techniques for the little green veggie.

Cathy the Chief Family Officer brings us a simple recipe to liven up any sandwich with her Easy Thousand Island Sandwich Spread I’ve got to try this one on Kurt.

And then there’s Bill, interesting how many “Bill”s we have in the carnival :)

Bill presents a sure to be famous Lemon-Asparagus Chicken with Dill posted at Famous Recipes.

Another Bill presents Orange Tarragon Chicken Breasts posted at his site, Chicken Recipes - Recipes for Chicken.

And yet another Bill presents All-Day Vegetable Soup posted at World Famous Recipes.

Oh…but that’s not all even another Bill brings us Slow Cooker Mexican Beef Stew posted at Recipes….
anyone noticing a pattern here?

Wait! Wait! Here’s another: Bill presents Slow Cooker Recipes: Slow Cooker Recipes - Crockpot Chicken Paprikash - Slow Cooker Recipes and Crockpot Recipes posted at Slow Cooker Recipes.

It’s getting kinda late, and well I’m beginning to wonder about the amazing amount of “Bills” when I come across this:
Not Bill but yes another Chicken Recipe: Chicken Recipes - MUSHROOM AND CHICKEN TERIYAKI posted at Chicken Recipes by Thelly.

That’s it folks. The ride is over, the fun has come to an end; I thank you for participating and for visiting. I’ll be back Sunday afternoon to check on the links and smooth things out. If you find anything missing please let me know in the comments. I am a bit sleepy and I surely could have mixed a few things up. Till tomorrow, or should I say today. Yes, well whatever, until next time please know that you are loved.

Update: In all the fun of the carnival I failed to insert my own submission. I give you my Bruschetta for One not because it’s my best recipe only because it’s my most recent simple satisfaction. In reflection I could improve it a hundred ways but thats not the point. What makes it “happy” is the impromptu fulfillment it provided.

Remember next week’s carnival will be hosted by Revka at The Porch Light.

Submit your recipe post to the next edition of carnival of the recipes using our carnival submission form. Past posts and future hosts can be found on our blog carnival index page.
