Filed under: General, Faith, Books — Posted by Jami Leigh at 10:08 am on Wednesday, April 2, 2008

Recently Janae and Julie have both mentioned an interest in finding a Chronological Bible. Last weekend I overheard Michele raving about hers. I did a little searching and found these on
Christianbook.com
I haven’t decided which one I like best and I’m not sure which one Michele has. I’ll ask her then get back to you.

Inspired By. . .The Bible Experience

Filed under: Books, Gift Ideas — Posted by Jami Leigh at 12:57 pm on Wednesday, January 16, 2008

I have to admit. Last year when Kurt bought Inspired By… The Bible Experience: New Testament on CD the first thought that came to my mind was: “Come on! How many Audio Bibles does a person need anyway!?!” Then I heard it and then I watched as the kids heard it. I was sold. This is the best audio Bible I’ve heard. The children were immediately taken in each time we turned it on and a year later still are. Charleigh even has the book of John on her MP3 Player. We liked it so much we gave it a couple times for Christmas and Birthday gifts last year and we’ve used it quite a few times in our “Grace Group”. The Old Testament has now recently been released as well. There are now many available options; you can also now get the both testaments combined either in mp3 format or on cd. Another great feature I thought might come in pretty handy for some is the download availability; you can download a single chapter.

926320: Inspired By...The Bible Experience: The Complete Bible Audio MP3 CD: Today"s New International Version Inspired By…The Bible Experience: The Complete Bible Audio MP3 CD: Today’s New International Version
By Zondervan

The fastest-selling audio Bible ever! This unforgettable dramatized reading by over 200 distinguished African American actors, actresses, and musicians gives extraordinary voice to God’s Word. Backed by an original musical score, Denzel Washington, Angela Bassett, Shirley Caesar, T.D. Jakes, Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin, and others deliver an electrifying “performance” of the complete TNIV Bible. MP3-CDs.

Charleigh and the Cul-De-Sac Kids

Charleigh is loving this Beverly Lewis “Cul-De-Sac Kids” series.

52804: Cul-De-Sac Kids, Volumes 1-6 Cul-De-Sac Kids, Volumes 1-6
By Beverly Lewis / Bethany

When your 7- to 10-year-olds join the kids on the cul-de-sac at Blossom Hill Lane, they’ll encounter realistic (and funny!) predicaments that point to Jesus as the ultimate mystery-solver! This boxed set of six softcover chapter books includes: The Double Dabble Surprise, The Chicken Pox Panic, The Crazy Christmas Angel Mystery, No Grow-ups Allowed, Frog Power, and The Mystery of Case D. Luc.

She’s been checking them out at the school library and just can’t get enough of them! She says they are way more cool than the Junie B. Jones books! Charleigh can’t even hold still when she’s reading them, she has to jump up every two minutes to update me on the story.

Check out these cute Bibles at
Christianbook.com

These would make a great Girl’s Birthday or Mother’s Day gift, they are normally priced around $25-$30 but right now you can get them for $11.99. They have two other styles as well but they are priced at $22. I of course like the pink and brown one but they’re all pretty cute. I have a gianormous study Bible and have been thinking it might be nice to have a small one to take to Church.
