Filed under: Charleigh, Joshua, Gift Ideas — Posted by Jami Leigh at 6:02 pm on Monday, January 14, 2008

It’s whats playing at our house this month. At last we break from High School Musical and Hannah Montana CD. We’ve discovered Pure NRG! The five year old and eight year old love them! The nine year old doesn’t mind them and the mom welcomes a fresh new Christian alternative.
Hey, this looks like the “Start of Something New” perhaps we’ve finally got “The Best of Both Worlds”.

puky produce

Whats worse than being vomited on by your 5yr old in the produce aisle?
The produce being vomited on as well.
What does one do?
Do you buy 10 lbs of pomegranates?
What do you do? What would you do?

The fabulous happenings of today reminded me of previous puky posts. Remember the fun had back in November 05′ I’ll never forget…

Joshua-
He had the best day of his life last Wednesday when he spent the entire day hanging out with, the Punk the Hall Tour which included
Stellar Kart * Eleventyseven * Nevertheless * Our Hearts Hero * Manafest

Kurt, having taken the day off to help with the concert, took Joshua along to help. My 5yr old rock star was walking on clouds as he spent the day back stage and on stage helping set up. At 3:30 I picked him up to take him to music class. When I told him it was time to go he gave me a bewildered look and said “Seriously?!? Mom, this is what it’s all about!” I thought I was tearing him away from the stage crew which in itself would have been pretty cool when really it was Jordan from Stellar Kart whom he was talking to. Jordan gave him a. . .well I’m not sure it is but it’s a part of a drum and apparently it’s pretty cool. Later when someone asked Joshua why he hadn’t asked Jordan to autograph it for him he said “Why would I? I know who gave it to me!”

Joshua also spent a couple hours hanging out with Adam Rowe , drummer for Nevertheless. He told me all the guys were “awesome” and he liked that their lead singer’s name was Joshua too. I wasn’t there the entire time so I’m not sure who else Joshua spent time with but I do know it was a day he’ll never forget!

The concert was a big hit and raised $5000 for our local crisis pregnancy center. A great blessing all around. . .except maybe for my eardrums. My hearing may never be the same. . .

Here’s a few shots of Charleigh’s baptism. (Notice her daddy is the one who did it) I really wish I’d have paid more attention to getting a good picture, I was too busy being wearing my “proud mommy” hat to put on my shutterbug one.

Here’s a pic of Joshua and his B-day Cake. (He decorated it) This is another example of a great day but no great pictures to show for it. . .

Joshua had an awesome birthday party! It was a “rock and roll” party. Some great friends of ours on the worship team at church came and rocked the place out for him. We got him a guitar and he was estatic to get to play with the band on stage with a huge audience. That night before he went to sleep he told me “In all my dreams I never dreamed a day could be as good as this”.

On October 5th Charleigh and her birthday buddy Kali turned 8. We had a mommy/daughter sleep over and the girls had a great time.

Every time Amy comes for a visit it’s a special ocassion. Here’s a picture of the two of us from this summer:

The King is Dead, The Crown is Mine!

Filed under: General, Joshua, A Mother's Life — Posted by Jami Leigh at 11:45 am on Thursday, September 20, 2007

Five year old Joshua sat intensely pondering something; but what? I wondered what could possibly be going through his mind. Watching as the gears turned in his head I waited for the boy to speak. . . After quite some time he looked up and said;

“So . . . they say Elvis is the king of Rock ‘n’ Roll”.

“Yes, that is what they say”, I cautiously responded.

“I’m going to be the king of rock ‘n’ roll someday”, he declared.

“Ok, sounds good to me”, I affirmed.

He thought on that for two minutes then asked; “Is Elvis a real person or just a pretend TV character?”

I tenderly answered, “Elvis was a real person sweetie, but he died 30 years ago”.

“Sweeeeet! He’s dead, now I’m the king!”
